 Author of ISIS: Ideology, Symbolics, and Counter-Narratives (Routledge 2019), The Religious Right and the Talibanization of America (Palgrave 2016), and Constructing Pakistan (Oxford 2010), Masood Ashraf Raja specializes in postcolonial studies, globalization theory, and the study of Islamic cultures and politics. His critical essays have been published in various journals such as the South Asian Review, Caribbean Studies, South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies, Prose Studies, Mosaic, Radical Teacher, and others. Raja has also co-edited two collections of essays, served on the PMLA Advisory Committee and has recently won and finished administering a one million dollar Department of State grant as the Director of UNT-NUML Partnership, a three-year cooperative agreement between UNT and the National University of Modern Languages, Pakistan. His next book, Democratic Criticism: Poetics of Incitement and the Muslim Sacred, will soon be published by Lever Press.
