Dr. María Isabel Maldonado García

Dr. María Isabel Maldonado García is Professor and In-Charge of the Institute of Languages and Linguistics at the University of the Punjab. She holds two PhDs: Spanish Language and General Linguistics (UNED, Madrid, Cum Laude, 2014) and English Linguistics (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, 2024), and master’s degrees in Language Science and Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. She has published 46 peer-reviewed articles and eight books. Her research focuses on sociolinguistics, second language acquisition, language policy, and gender linguistics. She has supervised multiple MPhil and PhD theses, served as Professor and Head of English at the University of Lahore, and received national and international awards.
