Dr Martin East

Martin East is Professor of Language Education in the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics where he primarily teaches courses in language teaching and learning. Prior to this appointment, Martin was a language teacher educator in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Auckland, where he worked mainly with pre-service teachers of languages other than English. His research sits at the intersection between second language acquisition, language pedagogy and teacher education, and he publishes widely in areas related to stakeholders’ reception of innovative practices. He is currently President of the International Association for Task-Based Language Teaching; a worldwide organization of scholars interested in and active contributors to the field of TBLT. Moreover, he is an active worker for the development of policies to support the teaching and learning of languages other than English in contexts where English is the predominant language.

Dr David Waterman

Dr Waterman is a member of the research team CRHIA (Center for Research in International and Atlantic History); he is also Director at University Asia Pacific Institute, and Director of the PhD programme in the Humanities. He is the author of Where Worlds Collide: Pakistani Fiction in the New Millennium (OUP, 2015). Dr Waterman is currently working on Pakistani history, culture, and literature in English, and has served on the editorial team of Pakistaniaat: A Journal of Pakistan Studies.

Dr Masood Ashraf Raja

His critical essays have been published in various journals such as the South Asian Review, Caribbean Studies, South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies, Prose Studies, Mosaic, Radical Teacher, and others. Raja has also co-edited two collections of essays, served on the PMLA Advisory Committee and has recently won and finished administering a one million dollar Department of State grant as the Director of UNT-NUML Partnership, a three-year cooperative agreement between UNT and the National University of Modern Languages, Pakistan. Dr Chau Meng Huat

Dr Chau Meng Huat began his career over 20 years ago as a teacher working with primary, secondary and high school students, before he took up a fellowship and joined University Malaya in 2010. At University Malaya, Meng Huat teaches and supervises research in Applied Linguistics. His research, teaching and supervision on topics in applied corpus linguistics, Global Englishes, language and writing development, multilingualism and TESOL have been motivated by ecojustice considerations, with a view to better understanding and enhancing the potential contribution of Applied Linguistics towards a sustainable world. Meng Huat holds adjunct and visiting appointments at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China and De La Salle University-Dasmariñas in the Philippines. Dr Muhammad Kamal Khan

Dr Kamal is an Assistant Professor of English and Applied Linguistics at Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. He is a certified Master Trainer by HEC Pakistan, British Council and Asian Institute of Technology Bangkok (Thailand). He was a visiting (Ph.D.) scholar at Newcastle University (United Kingdom) in 2011, an exchange faculty at Dicle University (Turkey) in 2015 and a SUSI fellow at Seattle University (United States) in 2017. A Gale Group American Scholar, he is bestowed with “Salam Teacher Award
– 2004” and HEC “Best Teacher Award – 2003.” He is serving the Executive Committee of the South Asian Literary Association for the third time. His book, “Black” Women’s Dramatic Discourse was published in 2009, while he also co-edited the 2010 South Asian Review special issue 31:3 on Pakistani creative writing in English. His Routledge, UK publication, Transcultural Humanities in South Asia is a 2022 forthcoming edited volume. With his interest in Critical Theory, a range of Anglo-American, European, South Asian, and postcolonial
literatures, he has written articles for various journals and is the founding Editor in Chief of JELLS, a research journal of Forman Christian College English Department. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences and is on the advisory and editorial boards of several nationally and internationally renowned research journals in his field.

Dr Zia Ahmed
Prof. Dr. Zia Ahmed has been working as Principal, Emerson University, Multan, Pakistan since March 02, 2020. He earned his PhD in 2012. He is serving as Adjunct Faculty at ISP, Multan, as Visiting Faculty at NUML, and BZU, Multan and Chairman Dept. of English at GEC, Multan. He has served BZU, Multan for a period of FIVE and ran the Dept. of English, as coordinator, under The DDE and successfully supervised 20 MPhil candidates. He is involved with BZ University Multan for PhD supervision as an approved Supervisor and is also rendering his services as subject expert to many universities of Pakistan and abroad, along with PPSC, Lahore. He is the author of many research papers in his subject. He teaches postcolonial feminist fiction, Pakistani fiction and postmodernist fiction. He visited University of North Texas, USA in 2015 and conducted his postdoctoral research. He has published 25 articles. He has given speeches/talks/lectures at local and National and international Level seminars and conferences, video Lecture in IIU Malaysia in Nov. 2017 and La Rochelle University, France on 6th May, 2019.

Dr Wasima Shehzad

Dr Muhammad Saeed Akhter

He is former Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of English of Women University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bagh, Azad Kashmir. He was also Director of the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR), and Convenor of the Board of Studies at that university. He has been visiting member of the faculty at various universities and other prestigious institutions. He is former Head of the Department of English and former Vice Principal of Islamabad Model College for Boys, G-6/3, Islamabad. He has been a member of the Boards of Studies of the University of Punjab Lahore, Riphah International University Faisalabad and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. He has been a member of the National Curriculum Revision Committee of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. He has a career as teacher trainer as well. He is a member of the Board of referees of various research journals. He has formerly held the positions of Programme Coordinator, Conference Coordinator, Workshop Coordinator, Academic Coordinator and Newsletter Coordinator of Society of Pakistan English Language Teachers (SPELT), Islamabad Chapter. Apart from his formal degrees of masters and doctorate in English (Pakistan), he has professional degrees of Postgraduate Diploma in English Language Teaching (Pakistan), Diploma TEFL (Pakistan), and a certificate on Crossing the Border: from Teaching to Training (England) on his credit. The research areas of his interest include English language teaching (ELT), syllabus designing, curriculum development, language policy and planning, multilingualism, and education policies with special focus on Asian countries.
